Gynae no.2, 1st visit!

I could proudly admit that I have finally found my preferred Gynae! It started off that mum highly recommend me to see her Gynae who helped her give birth to 22 year old Abu, my brother. Initially, I was quite hesitant as I was worried this doctor might seem too old for me... But I'm more than happy to admit that my perception was wrong.

My experience started off where my n my brother, Ali arrived to Kpj Specialist Kajang at 845am...believe it or not, it took us a mere 15 minutes to get there which already gave me brownie points...Kpj tawakkal seems a little to far to travel to, and perhaps may slightly feel even more farther during an emergency situation hehehe... Parking was situated outside, but it's free, so I don't exactly mind the short walk... The consultant specialist clinics were all located on the first floor.

It didn't take us long to wait for the doctor since there was on,y one patient before us, and she was already in. Half an hour later, it was my turn. The doctor, Dr Balakrishnan greeted me with a jovial smile, he looked young although I believe he's passed 60 years old already. But he looked very sharp , and he was very friendly and warm...and I instantly felt comfortable. Took details of my pregnancy, and we went for my scan. He explained everything thoroughly and clearly with a lot of knowledge coming from his own experience... And took shots of so many angles of my baby! I even got a shot of my baby smiling at me! It was heavenly! I could also see that my baby had developed a lot! It had proper valves in his heart, a strong spine, stomach, defined fingers and toes, and facial structure. It's approximate weight is around 250gms...quarter a kilo... Not bad!

Overall, it's a very strong and healthy baby...alhamdulillah... Gender? Ahahhaha...I think I shall be keeping that as a secret right now...

Before my visit ends, doc gave me a few advice:-

1) to concentrate on eating more lean protein and drinking milk or dairy products

2) to lessen on carbs and sugar intake so that I shall not be diagnose with pregnancy diabetes

3) to exercise, ie short walks or swimming...

After I thanked him, I walked out feeling more than happy and proud...alhamdulillah, baby sihat...so I'm very happy. And also, I really could see a significant difference with doctors who has more experience, they really make you feel nurtured and taken care off. Can't wait till my next visit!

Saturday (3 Dec 2011)

Continuing the search for another Gynae, I received a call from mum...

She believes that it would be better if I try to find a Gynae who's nearer to home...

(In other words, I know she's hinting for me to try her Gynae which helped her with Abu...)

Thus, I've made an appointment with her Doctor, Dr Bala @ KPJ Kajang this Saturday...

Hope I shall get some positive insights....

How to Choose Your Gynae?

I know I know....Might be slightly too late to "shop around" for a good gynae.. But that's what I'm seriously doing...

Its not that I have issues with my current one... (no, not at all)...

But then again, on the other hand, I have read and heard many saying that you need to feel comfortable with your Gynae... since he's assisting you until Birth...

Which is what I'm not exactly feeling right now...

Doc J is a nice man... a really nice man...but I can't help feeling unsatisfied, the fact that he is the "Step-By-Step By The Book" sorta guy....kinda giving us standards advices and answers to your most baffling questions.

I mean, we're young, first time parents, so it would help to feel nurtured and fed with information that we need to know I guess....

So every visit would normally be a 10-15 minutes kinda thing only....

But then again, I might be the fussy-pot sort I guess...

Anyway, Im currently scouting around for recommended gynaes...

Mom recommends her Gynae, of which she gave birth to Abu.. (that's like 21 years ago, and the dude's still alive?)
On the other hand, Dad's wants me to check out Sunway Medical Centre....where he always goes.

Argh...tension...gotta think of this all over again....

Gynae Visit #4

I don't exactly remember how many checks have I done with my Gynae...but if I rightly calculate, I believe that this is already my 4th visit (26th November 2011).

. A few worrying issues had struck me since these past few weeks:

#1 I had a slight fall on my hip bone, two weeks ago.. and I'm desperately worried of my baby
#2 Starting to have hand cramps and back aches
#3 Starting to have lower abdominal pains, which felt excruciatingly painful at times

But on the other hand, I could happily see the other beautiful side of pregnancy since my morning sickness is steadily waning off and that my appetite's increasing...and yeah, my belly's kinda starting to show heheh...

Many had complimented I look cute with that belly protruding out a bit...(moments of perasanness...)

Ye la.... Sebab bukan lemak tepu kannnnn.....Ha ha ha...

Anyway, this time, me and hubby was slightly late for our checkup and we arrived at about 10++ am...kinda late since there was already a line of queue in front of us....

After waiting for about an hour (not bad actually)...it was finally our turn...okla, not so long....

Alhamdulillah...baby was fine...it wasn't "breakdancing" like the last time i saw it....but steadily moving about in its sac...so amazing to watch...sigh.......

Doc tried to look harder for its gender....
first impression: A GIRL! (Hubby looked delighted)
second impression: A BOY!
Conclusion: Still need to wait a further 4 weeks to be really sure...sigh....

Anyway, I could see that  his/her development this week was unbelievable (as always...)

1) Weight: around 140gms
2) Diameter of the head: almost 4cm...

Can't wait for the next visit!

First Preview @ 8 weeks...

I've finally get to see the shape of my baby....

Yes peps...It wasn't just any thrivial day...when Hubby came back at end of September, we went to see our Doctor in KPJ Tawakkal for my follow up check-up...

It seemed funny that moi Little Bro, Ali wanted to follow too....

So there we are in Doc J's room, where I had my scan...

To my surprise, Baby's shape was starting to be visible.

At a length of 2.7 Centremeters, I could see tiny white dots forming its hands and legs, with a bigger white dot forming its head.....

The biggest surprise was that Doc had put on the loud speaker...and there goes the heartbeat...LOUD and CLEAR.

It was a racing 160 - 180 Bps...

Oh my God...that was pure bliss...Could even see an  almost - overwhelming smile (Hubby rarely really2 senyum nampak Gigi)...

But yeah...pure bliss...

And that's where my morning sickness starts to sky-rocket at an alarming tone.

PICS?

Yeah, soon soon...like pretty soon ya....

Food Banzai Checklist...

At this juncture, I hard know how could I ever keep on sustaining my body since I can't seem to be able to smell almost everything, except for cereals and milk...THAT'S IT.

Bummer.

I'm a food-o-holic, thus having the appetite, yet refraining myself from eating due to the exasperating smells I can hardly stand, it truly is frustrating to me...

Oh month 3...please please please come a.s.a.p so that I could really satisfy my hunger pangs, minus the nausea attacks.

So here's pretty much the checklist that I have made; all the food that I have been craving....once I'm better, they're definitely gonna be attacked....faster than a speed of light...

1) Chili's Loaded Mash Potatoes (never fails everytime...)

2) Uncle Bob's fried chicken - skinless and fatless, deep-fried and mixed with heavenly spicy goodness..slurp!

3) Waterlily Cafe's Grilled Lamb Chops with Apple Coleslaw, Roasted potatoes and special Black Pepper Sauce.

4) Cream and Fudge Oreo Peanut Butter Ice Cream with Hot Caramel Fudge and Peanuts.....

Seems to me that the Baby's craving for everything Western! Hmmm... weird....

But there's one craving of which I know I just won't be able to have em' during this pregnancy period...sigh....

1) Coke (Gosh!)

2) Starbucks Venti Sized Caramel Frappe....

Buweeekkkk....

I'm in my 7th week.

And worst ever nausea attacks are not decreasing.

Sigh....

But surprisingly, I could only consume fresh cut fruits i.e green apples, green guavas and mangoes.

And drink Ribena.

Seems like a healthy diet kan?

Current weight: 47 kg....(not good, since I'm always narrowing towards 50....)..ain't feeling healthy and whole...

Cepatla habis 3 bulan ...... :(

Tension kicks in...and so does constipation

Being in this state of despair, one can only give pretty much 50% concentration to work (I'm simply revv-ing up the numbers to make myself seem "workaholic") and the other 50% battling morning sickness and constipation.

Last Wednesday, out of pure excitement and encouragement, I have taken the liberty to start shopping for Milk for Preggie Mommies (first time beb! wuhuu!)

So me being me, I research about almost everything! So naturally, the whole afternoon was being spent on "milk powder surveying".

Names like Enfamama, Anmum, Friso, Similac and S26 crawled through Google Search pages.

Anmum and Enfamama received the most reviews online...but the common comments by fellow preggie Moms were:

"Enfamama makes you gain weight cepat gile!" - gee, I don't wanna be puting on weight so fast! Not in my first trimester!

"Anmum rasa x sedap" - Dalam waktu ketika loya2 tekak ni, rasa macam kalau susu tu kurang sedap, lagi la tak boleh nk telan...

So mcm mana?

From reviews and advice that i have received, if you could drink maternal milk, you should. Since maternal milk provides the baby with high calcium for bone development, high folic acid for cell generation, DHA, as well as all the vitamins and minerals for the baby's growth.

So...off I went to Isetan that very day, and finally, I bought this:-

Details on the tin?

Friso® Mum Gold is a tasty, nutritious milk supplement for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

It is the only maternal milk formulated with P2 Dual System™, which contains Friso® Synbiotic Agent, a combination of Prebiotic and Probiotic.

What are Prebiotics and Probiotics?
Prebiotics are food for good bacteria and helps them grow. It also increases solubility of calcium, helping your body to absorb it.1 Common types of prebiotics are long chain fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS).

Hmmm... since I've been hearing about preggies having constipation, the idea of having this P2 system that helps you ease yourself seems to be a good idea.

TODAY (12th September '11)
As per today, I have dilligently consumed one glass of Friso Milk per day. Memang no constipation problems. Alhamdulillah...
The flavour's nice, yummy vanilla...rasa macam milk shake.

My only grip?
As I'm having really bad morning sickness (and evening)...I do need  force myself utk telan secawan sampai habis..sigh...

can't wait for month 4...sigh.....

Kisah Perut dan Cravings

Buwekkks...

I'm already feeling the morning sickness effects, and constipation.
Never in my entire life, I've felt so bloated for a long span of time.

And a record of 4 times vomitting (just for yesterday)

Also, for the past few days, I have been having a weird craving for Crabs and Kangkung Belachan.

"Mak, nak Kangkung Belachan. Nak ketam...."

So weird.

So semalam, atas dasar kasihan ibu dan ayah, off we went to our frequently visited seafood restaurant in PD for a plate of Spicy Crab and Kangkung Belachan.

Surprisingly, Einstein pun tiba-tiba terasa nak makan Venison (Daging Rusa).

Wow,I'm not the only one having cravings ya?

Tapi memang sedap...

Never in my life had I enjoyed crabs so much as yesterday. I was pretty much licking every part (inner and outside) of the crabs, sucking the delicious crab juices mixed with the aromatic spices together.

Heavenly......

Oh, and not to forget, Kangkung Belachan never tasted so good......

I was in heaven yesterday....

The Epic Moment

So its finally positive. Gave me a real shocker at first...followed by a racing heartbeat.Immediately (naturally so, I picked up the phone and called Hubby..

"Honey, I'm pregnant"

Hubby was speechless...followed by a shaking, yet happy (kinda-sounding) tone

"That's good, Alhamdulillah..."

Ahahahah..so much for planning to "joli-joli hurrah-hurrah" dulu kan...

Tak apalaa...rezeki.

Next day (Tuesday, 6th Sept 2011) went to Tawakkal for a real clinical Blood test.

Results:Positve. 5 weeks +

Oh my god...I'm Gonna Be a Mommy....
