Huggies Ultra kah?
The Huggies Ultra I ordered online finally dah sampai... wuhuu!
To recap, I was recently surfing online and I saw that this supplier was selling Disposable Diapers at a dirt cheap price - Kilang Lampin Bayi S&J (S&J stands for Steven and Josephine). Apparently, they were selling branded diapers from overseas - i.e Mamy Poko Korea, Huggies Ultra USA, Toujours, Maman Bosomi)
Since I was 'hearting' Huggies Ultra, I asked them for a quotation for these Pampers, and apparently the price was RM30 for 80 pieces (M size)... comes to about 40 sens per piece!
This is actually cheap considering that kalau kat kedai, its RM34 for 64 pieces.
Hmm... boleh percaya kah? But they claim that the quality is much better than the ones locally sold here.
But then again, no harm trying ryte?So I ordered 3 packs of 80 pieces...comes to about RM99 for 240 pieces..cheap!
(Being a mummy totally helps you practice 'Creative Accounting'... lol!
So hows the performance? Dunno yet, sebab I still have a pack of Huggies Dry (M size) nak habiskan, and then I shall start using this after dah habiskan stock...
And now I shall leave you with a pic of moi bebe...Ammar!
Alahai...belainya Mommy tengok....

Pampers oh Pampers..
Now that I'm a mother, the pampers and susu issue is now a new concern in my life... So as much as I'm constantly trying out new skincare, my son now becomes my new testing ground for new pampers! Tapi susu x la...I'm now sticking to Enfalac A+ to complement my not-so-banyak susu badan...Walaupun harga mahal (cheapest I could get is RM81.90 for an 850gm tin), but so far he has no problems...buang air besar ? OK! No kembung, no sembelit...no rashes, no eczema effect....really great stuff...and I honestly don't mind giving him the best stuff that I can afford...Mintak2 gaji naik so that this could continue..Aaaminnn...
Yang Enfalac biasa tuh, cheaper by 10 bucks...but reviews said that babies ramai sembelit....so I still stick to Enfalac A+ since sesuai untuk Ammar... I wouldn't wanna compromise his health...

Pasal Pampers pulak, I've been going back-and-forth, trying so many brands...Awal2 tuh bagi pakai Huggies NB...ok, best2 tapi kecil skit...but cutting dia I like....but saja gatal2 try yang lain...cheapest I got was RM26.90 for 52 pieces...

I cuba jugak Pet Pet and also Drypers...Don't really fancy these two sebab bila Ammar kencing, bau dia sgt2 hancing...thus you constantly need to change him sbb cepat berat and basah...But Pet Pet and Drypers are dirt cheap lah...mmg value for money if you ask me...
Next, I went for Mamy Poko, a premium brand for diapers...ala2 Honda CRV in the Honda family konon2nye...
Love the cutting on Ammar, and its super effective in absorbing all the wetness..
Tapi of course lah the price tu mcm steep sikit... Around 10 bucks more than price of other diapers...And since banyak kali kene tukar, I'm not sure I'm willing to spend that much for diapers...Tapi mmg bestlah pakai Mamy Poko...During promo dapat RM31.90 for 52 pieces...

Next, I got recommendations for Huggies Ultra... seems that many cakap its good...
But I was very much attracted with the fact that its organic...and has aloe vera and vitamin E so that Baby's bottom x naik rash... so I pun pergilah beli kat Manjaku...

Since now that Ammar dah nak dkt 5kg, I pun beli lah Huggies Ultra size M...sbb Huggies ni cutting kecik sikit...Seems to work for Ammar...malam2 kencing pun dia x meragam...he sleeps so well at night...
Kalau tidokan kul 11...kul 5 pagi baru bangun mintak feeding...
I dapat kat Manjaku RM34 for 64 pieces, which is about 50 sen per piece...
Tapi apparently I found this website online, dia jual Huggies Ultra USA, RM 30 for 80 pieces...thats so cheap!
Tapi kata design x sama...but I placed jugak order to try...hopefully oklahh...
Will update on it soon!

Salute to KPJ Kajang!
Saja nak promo skit...
Since I've had the best labour experience and treatment kat KPJ Kajang...I urge anyone yang nak bersalin to seriously think of giving birth here...It's such a great hospital!

Dr Bala: Yang Duduk, 3 from Right...
Dr Meena: Ammar's Paediatrician - Berdiri, 2 from left
1) Dr Balakrishnan - The Gynae come Medical Director...Fantastic, experienced and sgt2 cekap...
From this moment, I highly salute Gynaes and also the midwives...excellent..
2) Bilik baru yang best - Had single room to stay...mmg best. Altho some may argue that bilik Gleneagle is better, but for me, its sufficient enough...clean and comfortable...
3) Nurses - sgt2 friendly..and efficient. They even sent me sampai ke kereta on the day I discharged.
4) Food - walaupun makanan hospital, tp berkualiti. And guess what, they also cook makanan pantang
5) Nursery - Very friendly and experienced nurses. Altho they promote exclusive breastfeeding, kepada ibu2 yang x larat lagi nak bfeed (selepas bersabung nyawa dalam labour), they give quality milk which is Enfalac A+.
Mahal susu tu...
6) Price - They basically have Maternity Packages about RM2k++ but in my case, company bayar, so x risau sgt. But then again, my bill came to almost RM8k, but quite cheap considering that I stayed for 7 days dalam hospital.
7) Paedi yang comel - Dr Meena took over Dr Bala as Ammar's doctor. She's so comel and nice...
So thank you KPJ Kajang for making my stay in the hospital the best ever!

Labour Part 2
930am...
Doc: "Ok Juma, I'm going to break your membrane (water bag) ya...I need to see the colour of the liquid..If its clear, then we proceed for normal labour, but if its green, means baby dah berak and I would need to do c-section" (belah)...
Takutnya... when he broke the water bag...mcm rasa you terkencing at an enormous amount...and its so uncomfortable...
Doc: "Ok Juma, the liquid is clear...we proceed with normal labour..."
Then he left me with 2 midwives....
Midwife (MW): Ok Puan Juma, kami akan perform induce...means we need to put fluid that will increase the contraction and akan cepatkan bukaan tu... Btw, u nak epridural x?
Me: Emm..tak kot.. (konon2 nak jadi hero...)
That's when the pain started to sky rocket... OMG...I've never felt so painful in my entire life!
The contraction came in every 5 minutes interval...DAmmmm painful.... and everytime rasa contraction...macam nak patah pinggang! Felt like you were ripped apart!!!
Omg.... It was way beyond explainable..
"Puan, kalau sakit, sedut gas..." Tapi jadi mcm lalok pulak everytime I sedut gas tu...
The worst part is..everytime I felt the contraction, The midwife asked me to push!
And masa nak push lah, dia seluk masuk and betul2kan kepala the baby...
Yes, dah nampak dah kepala baby at 930am..cuma tak keluar je...
How can you think of 2-3 things to do at the same time???
This lasted for an hour, and they constantly checked on how much I've dilated. Imagine the agony that I had to go through..mmg betul org kata...labour ni pergi berperang...
1100am
I was like 7cm opened...lambatnya nak bukak sampai 10cm...and I was like fighting for my lifeMe:" Yang, please2...I don't wanna go through this anymore...dah tanak dah..."
Hubby was speechless...he didn't know what he could say...
1200pm
I was already 10cm opened. And the midwife decided.."boleh stop inducing..."Then they asked me to mengiring... "Ok puan, masa sakit push....kalau x sakit jangan push...nanti penat.."
HOW PENAT CAN I BE ANYMORE THAN THIS???
But I tried pushing everytime I felt an urge to buang air besar...
Doc Bala came in and checked.." I think dalam 1 jam lagi kot..."
OMG...lamanya...
Then like 10 minutes later, when I was pushing....I heard one midwife said "call the doctor, rasa nak keluar dah ni...Puan, hold dulu...jangan push keluar lagi..tahan kejap!"
And I'm like.." Saya tak tahan...nak push jugak!"
Within 5 minutes, Doc came and cucuk anaesthetic..and told me.."Ok Juma, you can push"
I tried with every force I had..and within 1 heavy push, my son came out half of his body...crying and wailing..."
And within the next 5 minutes... doc stitched me up.
"Congrats Juma, you have a healthy baby boy at 1.9kg"
Aaaminn,,,keciknya anak aku...tapi tak apalah..janji its over!
But I couldnt get myself up..or open my eyes...tak larat sgt2....
So the whole day..I spend my time sleeping....but it was so blissful..... Its allll over..
9 months waiting and agony at the end...and Ammar Mikhail finally came....
Alhamdulillah....
Labour Part 1
26th March 2012
Met Dr Bala for my normal checkup.... It was Monday and I was all dressed up for work. But then all was not well...
"Your amniotic fluid is pretty low..at level 9..whereas normal should be 11 and above..."
I was worried. It didn't help that the baby's growth was not increasing either...it was stagnant at 2 kilos... And I was losing weight, approximately 500gm.. What's going on?
Thus, I had no choice but to be admitted on that day itself...Later, the nurse placed the CTG device on my tummy, to check on the baby's movement..
Thank god Hubby was around to teman me.
30th March 2012
"Sakitla yang"...
"Nanti esok pagi okla tu..."
It was approximately 1230am at night...and I was feeling something like period pain...only worse.
It felt throbbing...mcm nak patah pinggang.
Called the nurse, and she put the CTG scan on my tummy...seems that the baby's movement was well..only that my blood pressure sky-rocketed to 150/110... damn high for a person like me who's always on the low side....
31th March 2012
8.00 am
Hubby: I nak beli nasik lemak...kedai depan tu jual sedap.. U nak?
Me: Taknak lah... tak selera...and I'm still feeling painful...
Hubby: Ok, I beli kejap ye...
30 mins later...
Hubby said..."Eh, kenapa ada blood kt baju u?
I panicked...Nurse, nurse, tolong panggil Dr Bala...
Doc came...as usual with a smile on his face... "Good Morning Juma... I heard you complained about pain last night, can I check and see how much you have already opened? (U know what I mean...)... I always hate this part...
"You're already 4 cm dilated... I think you're ready for labour.."
What??? I didn't know what to feel...half of me felt excited...mcm dalam movie...I'm finally gonna see my son! Half of me was freakin' scared...darn... Hubby pun terlopong..x sempat makan nasi lemak...
And I didn't even get a bite of anything yet...macam mana ek labour? Penat ke...Takut tak ada energy...
So I pun siap2..and nurse wheeled me out of the room with hubby...
900am
Mama masuk. "Mak, mintak maaf banyak2 ya...."
Mama nangis... kesian tengok..."jangan lupa mengucap banyak2...ni mcm nak pergi perang tapi there shall be a happiness at the end...kejap je lagi, and you will get to see your son..."
Hee takutnya...
Bersambung in 2nd part...

falling in love...again...
I never thought that it was possible to fall in love again... And with a different person other than Hubby pulak tuh! Having a child really makes all the difference in life... The moment he looked into your eyes the first time... U feel that you gave fallen in love all over again....
To recap the journey of my labour... Wait for my next post!

The wonders of pregnancy...
Ouch...Adoi....Crampnye....
I guess...those are the common....no, very common pregnancy squels let out most of the time... on good days, I'm at on my feet, pergi jalan KLCC, naik turun LRT...(macam x ingat dunia)...
On the not-so-good days...you wake up with:-
- Backaches
- Hip aches
- Tummy cramps
- Leg cramps
- Etc. etc...
Plus, I've already gained like 8 kgs from my normal weight...and that's like in 7 months...normal? Not sure though....I hardly could tell....
But the beauty of being pregnant becomes even more apparent when you feel him moving in your tummy....moving slowly, kicking steadily...and at some point, he responds to your voice by kicking or moving.... aaahhh bliss... terubat segala kesakitan and kepenatan...
and when loneliness strikes you...you knew in your heart and mind that you're not alone...and never will be after this :)
So right now.. I have like 2 months more to go.. before the final hurdle....
May god help me go through those few months...and the labor.... aminnnn....

Gynae no.2, 1st visit!
I could proudly admit that I have finally found my preferred Gynae! It started off that mum highly recommend me to see her Gynae who helped her give birth to 22 year old Abu, my brother. Initially, I was quite hesitant as I was worried this doctor might seem too old for me... But I'm more than happy to admit that my perception was wrong.
My experience started off where my n my brother, Ali arrived to Kpj Specialist Kajang at 845am...believe it or not, it took us a mere 15 minutes to get there which already gave me brownie points...Kpj tawakkal seems a little to far to travel to, and perhaps may slightly feel even more farther during an emergency situation hehehe... Parking was situated outside, but it's free, so I don't exactly mind the short walk... The consultant specialist clinics were all located on the first floor.
It didn't take us long to wait for the doctor since there was on,y one patient before us, and she was already in. Half an hour later, it was my turn. The doctor, Dr Balakrishnan greeted me with a jovial smile, he looked young although I believe he's passed 60 years old already. But he looked very sharp , and he was very friendly and warm...and I instantly felt comfortable. Took details of my pregnancy, and we went for my scan. He explained everything thoroughly and clearly with a lot of knowledge coming from his own experience... And took shots of so many angles of my baby! I even got a shot of my baby smiling at me! It was heavenly! I could also see that my baby had developed a lot! It had proper valves in his heart, a strong spine, stomach, defined fingers and toes, and facial structure. It's approximate weight is around 250gms...quarter a kilo... Not bad!
Overall, it's a very strong and healthy baby...alhamdulillah... Gender? Ahahhaha...I think I shall be keeping that as a secret right now...
Before my visit ends, doc gave me a few advice:-
1) to concentrate on eating more lean protein and drinking milk or dairy products
2) to lessen on carbs and sugar intake so that I shall not be diagnose with pregnancy diabetes
3) to exercise, ie short walks or swimming...
After I thanked him, I walked out feeling more than happy and proud...alhamdulillah, baby sihat...so I'm very happy. And also, I really could see a significant difference with doctors who has more experience, they really make you feel nurtured and taken care off. Can't wait till my next visit!

Saturday (3 Dec 2011)
Continuing the search for another Gynae, I received a call from mum...
She believes that it would be better if I try to find a Gynae who's nearer to home...
(In other words, I know she's hinting for me to try her Gynae which helped her with Abu...)
Thus, I've made an appointment with her Doctor, Dr Bala @ KPJ Kajang this Saturday...
Hope I shall get some positive insights....

How to Choose Your Gynae?
I know I know....Might be slightly too late to "shop around" for a good gynae.. But that's what I'm seriously doing...
Its not that I have issues with my current one... (no, not at all)...
But then again, on the other hand, I have read and heard many saying that you need to feel comfortable with your Gynae... since he's assisting you until Birth...
Which is what I'm not exactly feeling right now...
Doc J is a nice man... a really nice man...but I can't help feeling unsatisfied, the fact that he is the "Step-By-Step By The Book" sorta guy....kinda giving us standards advices and answers to your most baffling questions.
I mean, we're young, first time parents, so it would help to feel nurtured and fed with information that we need to know I guess....
So every visit would normally be a 10-15 minutes kinda thing only....
But then again, I might be the fussy-pot sort I guess...
Anyway, Im currently scouting around for recommended gynaes...
Mom recommends her Gynae, of which she gave birth to Abu.. (that's like 21 years ago, and the dude's still alive?)
On the other hand, Dad's wants me to check out Sunway Medical Centre....where he always goes.
Argh...tension...gotta think of this all over again....

Gynae Visit #4
I don't exactly remember how many checks have I done with my Gynae...but if I rightly calculate, I believe that this is already my 4th visit (26th November 2011).
. A few worrying issues had struck me since these past few weeks:
#1 I had a slight fall on my hip bone, two weeks ago.. and I'm desperately worried of my baby
#2 Starting to have hand cramps and back aches
#3 Starting to have lower abdominal pains, which felt excruciatingly painful at times
But on the other hand, I could happily see the other beautiful side of pregnancy since my morning sickness is steadily waning off and that my appetite's increasing...and yeah, my belly's kinda starting to show heheh...
Many had complimented I look cute with that belly protruding out a bit...(moments of perasanness...)
Ye la.... Sebab bukan lemak tepu kannnnn.....Ha ha ha...
Anyway, this time, me and hubby was slightly late for our checkup and we arrived at about 10++ am...kinda late since there was already a line of queue in front of us....
After waiting for about an hour (not bad actually)...it was finally our turn...okla, not so long....
Alhamdulillah...baby was fine...it wasn't "breakdancing" like the last time i saw it....but steadily moving about in its sac...so amazing to watch...sigh.......
Doc tried to look harder for its gender....
first impression: A GIRL! (Hubby looked delighted)
second impression: A BOY!
Conclusion: Still need to wait a further 4 weeks to be really sure...sigh....
Anyway, I could see that his/her development this week was unbelievable (as always...)
1) Weight: around 140gms
2) Diameter of the head: almost 4cm...
Can't wait for the next visit!

First Preview @ 8 weeks...
I've finally get to see the shape of my baby....
Yes peps...It wasn't just any thrivial day...when Hubby came back at end of September, we went to see our Doctor in KPJ Tawakkal for my follow up check-up...
It seemed funny that moi Little Bro, Ali wanted to follow too....
So there we are in Doc J's room, where I had my scan...
To my surprise, Baby's shape was starting to be visible.
At a length of 2.7 Centremeters, I could see tiny white dots forming its hands and legs, with a bigger white dot forming its head.....
The biggest surprise was that Doc had put on the loud speaker...and there goes the heartbeat...LOUD and CLEAR.
It was a racing 160 - 180 Bps...
Oh my God...that was pure bliss...Could even see an almost - overwhelming smile (Hubby rarely really2 senyum nampak Gigi)...
But yeah...pure bliss...
And that's where my morning sickness starts to sky-rocket at an alarming tone.
PICS?
Yeah, soon soon...like pretty soon ya....

Extreme Morning Sickness....
Argh... I honest just can't wait for this morning sickness to wane off...cuz it's getting worst...
I'm vomitting like nobody's business.....nausea all the time...
Been admitted in the hospital TWICE to replenish the fluids as I was extremely dehydrated....
- First in Az-Zahrah
- Second in KPJ Tawakkal
And I'm still not feeling that great either....In fact the same...
Right now, only God can help me....I feel so sick to the core.....

Food Banzai Checklist...
At this juncture, I hard know how could I ever keep on sustaining my body since I can't seem to be able to smell almost everything, except for cereals and milk...THAT'S IT.
Bummer.
I'm a food-o-holic, thus having the appetite, yet refraining myself from eating due to the exasperating smells I can hardly stand, it truly is frustrating to me...
Oh month 3...please please please come a.s.a.p so that I could really satisfy my hunger pangs, minus the nausea attacks.
So here's pretty much the checklist that I have made; all the food that I have been craving....once I'm better, they're definitely gonna be attacked....faster than a speed of light...
1) Chili's Loaded Mash Potatoes (never fails everytime...)

2) Uncle Bob's fried chicken - skinless and fatless, deep-fried and mixed with heavenly spicy goodness..slurp!

3) Waterlily Cafe's Grilled Lamb Chops with Apple Coleslaw, Roasted potatoes and special Black Pepper Sauce.

4) Cream and Fudge Oreo Peanut Butter Ice Cream with Hot Caramel Fudge and Peanuts.....

Seems to me that the Baby's craving for everything Western! Hmmm... weird....
But there's one craving of which I know I just won't be able to have em' during this pregnancy period...sigh....
1) Coke (Gosh!)

2) Starbucks Venti Sized Caramel Frappe....

Buweeekkkk....
I'm in my 7th week.
And worst ever nausea attacks are not decreasing.
Sigh....
But surprisingly, I could only consume fresh cut fruits i.e green apples, green guavas and mangoes.
And drink Ribena.
Seems like a healthy diet kan?
Current weight: 47 kg....(not good, since I'm always narrowing towards 50....)..ain't feeling healthy and whole...
Cepatla habis 3 bulan ...... :(

Tension kicks in...and so does constipation
Being in this state of despair, one can only give pretty much 50% concentration to work (I'm simply revv-ing up the numbers to make myself seem "workaholic") and the other 50% battling morning sickness and constipation.
Last Wednesday, out of pure excitement and encouragement, I have taken the liberty to start shopping for Milk for Preggie Mommies (first time beb! wuhuu!)
So me being me, I research about almost everything! So naturally, the whole afternoon was being spent on "milk powder surveying".
Names like Enfamama, Anmum, Friso, Similac and S26 crawled through Google Search pages.
Anmum and Enfamama received the most reviews online...but the common comments by fellow preggie Moms were:
"Enfamama makes you gain weight cepat gile!" - gee, I don't wanna be puting on weight so fast! Not in my first trimester!

"Anmum rasa x sedap" - Dalam waktu ketika loya2 tekak ni, rasa macam kalau susu tu kurang sedap, lagi la tak boleh nk telan...

So mcm mana?
From reviews and advice that i have received, if you could drink maternal milk, you should. Since maternal milk provides the baby with high calcium for bone development, high folic acid for cell generation, DHA, as well as all the vitamins and minerals for the baby's growth.
So...off I went to Isetan that very day, and finally, I bought this:-

Details on the tin?
Friso® Mum Gold is a tasty, nutritious milk supplement for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
It is the only maternal milk formulated with P2 Dual System™, which contains Friso® Synbiotic Agent, a combination of Prebiotic and Probiotic.

What are Prebiotics and Probiotics?
Prebiotics are food for good bacteria and helps them grow. It also increases solubility of calcium, helping your body to absorb it.1 Common types of prebiotics are long chain fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS).

Hmmm... since I've been hearing about preggies having constipation, the idea of having this P2 system that helps you ease yourself seems to be a good idea.
TODAY (12th September '11)
As per today, I have dilligently consumed one glass of Friso Milk per day. Memang no constipation problems. Alhamdulillah...
The flavour's nice, yummy vanilla...rasa macam milk shake.
My only grip?
As I'm having really bad morning sickness (and evening)...I do need force myself utk telan secawan sampai habis..sigh...
can't wait for month 4...sigh.....

Kisah Perut dan Cravings
Buwekkks...
I'm already feeling the morning sickness effects, and constipation.
Never in my entire life, I've felt so bloated for a long span of time.
And a record of 4 times vomitting (just for yesterday)
Also, for the past few days, I have been having a weird craving for Crabs and Kangkung Belachan.
"Mak, nak Kangkung Belachan. Nak ketam...."
So weird.
So semalam, atas dasar kasihan ibu dan ayah, off we went to our frequently visited seafood restaurant in PD for a plate of Spicy Crab and Kangkung Belachan.
Surprisingly, Einstein pun tiba-tiba terasa nak makan Venison (Daging Rusa).
Wow,I'm not the only one having cravings ya?
Tapi memang sedap...

Never in my life had I enjoyed crabs so much as yesterday. I was pretty much licking every part (inner and outside) of the crabs, sucking the delicious crab juices mixed with the aromatic spices together.
Heavenly......
Oh, and not to forget, Kangkung Belachan never tasted so good......

I was in heaven yesterday....
